INDOOR Biotechnologies Inc Signs Agreement With Luminex Corp. for xMAP® Technology

INDOOR Biotechnologies has recently signed a Development and Supply Agreement with Luminex Corporation (AUSTIN, Texas) which provides INDOOR Biotechnologies with worldwide rights for use of Luminex xMAP®-based technology in the allergy field.  The licensing agreement offers Luminex a rapidly growing area for commercialization of xMAP-based technology.

INDOOR Biotechnologies will market multiplex kits for detection of environmental allergens (dust mites, cat, dog, rat, mouse, cockroach) in homes, workplaces and public buildings, and will provide exclusive multiplex assay services to academic researchers, government agencies, pharmaceutical companies and the indoor air quality industry. Indoor Biotechnologies will also use Luminex's xMAP technology to develop research based tests for diagnosis of allergic disease using highly purified allergens.

Development of allergen detection systems using multiplex technology by INDOOR Biotechnologies has been supported by a $1.7M Small Business Innovation Contract from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.

Allergen detection kits and assay services will be available in January 2008.  Recent publications on the validation and performance of multiplex arrays are listed below.  Assay kits will be marketed as follows:

5-plex: Der p 1, Der f 1, Mite Group 2, Fel d 1, Can f 1

8-plex:  Der p 1, Der f 1, Mite Group 2, Fel d 1, Can f 1, Rat n 1, Mus m 1, Bla g 2

Custom bead sets will also be available.  Further details of these and other multiplex products will be announced in our January INBIO eNews.
