  • IBI awarded $1.3M National Institutes of Health SBIR contract to develop multiplexed allergen assays

INDOOR Biotechnologies Inc. is delighted to announce that it has recently been awarded a Small Business Innovation and Research Phase II Contract to develop fluorescent multiplex array technology for indoor allergen detection. This technology will make it possible to measure multiple allergens simultaneously in a single dust or air sample. After successfully developing array for five mite and cat allergens as part of Phase I feasibility studies, IBI was awarded the Phase II contract by the U.S. National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences.

The technology will be extended to measure a panel of 10-15 common indoor allergens. The multiplex technology will be jointly developed over two years with Dr. Kerry Oliver of Radix Biosolutions Inc (Austin, TX). Radix is a custom manufacturer of Luminex® xMAP microspheres. The multiplex technology will be a major advance in allergen detection and will facilitate large scale epidemiologic studies on allergen exposure and asthma.
